LIVESTRONG® at the YMCA: A Cancer Survivor Exercise Program trains instructors how to empower cancer survivors to improve their quality of life through exercise and building positive relationships. Instructors will learn how to effectively engage cancer survivors in the 12-week LIVESTRONG® program by being taught the knowledge of cancer types, surgeries and treatments and side effects. Instructors will learn the importance of exercise in cancer survivorship and how to modify and progress exercises based off each individual’s specific needs thus providing instructors with the comprehension to create a safe and appropriate exercise program for each program participant.

By completing this course, you will enhance your relationship building and communication skills and be able to impact the wellbeing of cancer survivors in your Y, which ultimately fulfill community needs and strengthens the foundations of community.
