Swim lessons provide kids, teens and adults with the opportunity to set goals and achieve success, learn water safety and enjoy swimming as a form of exercise. Through swimming lessons, swim teams, lap swimming and more, the YMCA of the Suncoast provides a safe environment for swimmers of all ages and abilities.

Lifeguard Training

YMCA Lifeguard Training is a comprehensive course that focuses on water rescue, safety and prepares lifeguards to anticipate and prevent dangers. Upon successful completion, participants are qualified to work at an aquatics facility as a certified lifeguard. Participants must attend all classes and successfully pass exams to receive certification.

Pools and Waterparks

Swim Basics

Swim Starters

Accompanied by a parent, infants and toddlers learn to be comfortable in the water and develop swim readiness skills through fun and confidence-building experiences while parents learn about water safety, drowning prevention and the importance of supervision.

Swim Test

All children 13 and younger must participate in a swimming skills test and will be assigned a green, yellow or red band. These bands assist our lifeguards in keeping swimmers safe.

Masters Swim is a blend of fitness and competitive swimming for adults 18 and older. The structured workouts use techniques of interval training with a focus on fun, fitness and friendship.
