Swim Lessons

Take your child to the Y and complete a swim test and talk to your YMCA's Aquatics Team. Students can register for one of eight stages under our three swim categories depending upon their age and current swim ability.

Infant-Toddler (6-36 months)

A gentle introduction to the water with a focus on comfort, safety and parent-child connection. Children build early water confidence through songs, games and basic skills with a caregiver in the pool.

Preschool (3–5 years)

Preschool swim lessons help young children become more comfortable and independent in the water. Swimmers practice water safety, floating, kicking, breath control and beginner swim skills in a fun, supportive setting.

School-Age Strokes (6-12 years)

For school-age swimmers who are new to lessons or still learning to swim independently. This class focuses on water safety, comfort in the water, floating, breath control, gliding and basic swim skills.
