Thank you for an outstanding 2016
Dear YMCA Members: On behalf of the YMCA of the Suncoast, I want to take this opportunity to wish you a Merry Christmas, a joyous Holiday Season and Happy New Year. THANK YOU to our members and volunteers for being a member of our Y family.
These three focus areas embody all of our work and deliver on our Mission: To put Christian principles into practice through programs that build healthy spirit, mind, and body for all.
The YMCA of the Suncoast had another exciting year in 2016. One of our biggest and best gifts was the grand opening of the Citrus Memorial Health Foundation Branch YMCA.
Thanks to an outstanding group of volunteers the Y opened May 1 and has exceeded expectations. The community's positive response and involvement is so encouraging. I believe it's a sign that when communities come together great things can happen!
In addition, our school-age programming from Largo to Inverness has grown with several objectives but one goal- to close the achievement gap. Our before and after school partnerships with the counties we serve continues to be a fun, educational and safe place that parents can rely on. We believe that every child should have the opportunities to pursue their dreams and reach their fullest God-given potential.
In 2017, the Y will once again renew our commitment to making sure all people have the opportunity to reach their full potential- for a better us!
