YMCA of the Suncoast Annual Report

At the Y, our volunteers invest in our future. Their hands yearn to serve others. They help mold our youth. They help others find joy and happiness. They build what matters most for their communities. Our hands are the volunteers of the YMCA of the Suncoast and they serve in spirit, mind and body for a better us.

Our strategic plan "Grand Plan for Success" continues to guide our work with commitments to Youth Development, Healthy Living, Volunteerism and Philanthropy. This Annual Report recognizes an extraordinary duo, Katherine Diaz and Kari Buxton, whose idea nearly a decade ago is one of the top special needs summer camps in Tampa Bay.

It also recognizes three extraordinary individuals like Seymour “Sim” Dawson, a.k.a. “the Squid Man.” Sim has dedicated almost two decades of his time to the Clearwater YMCA Fishing Rodeo.

Jennifer Jaye has been a healthy living volunteer for past three years. She helps plan and facilitate Camp Living Springs, a cancer survivor retreat weekend funded by the Morton Plant Mease Foundation.

Clark Stillwell is a member of the campaign team that helped raise $8 million to build the Y in Citrus County. His philanthropic efforts are also big reason why the Citrus Memorial Health Foundation donated $2.8 million to build the Y.

Plus, each YMCA of the Suncoast location and school-age program have selected their adult and youth volunteer of the year.
