Benefiting Be Water Smart!
YMCAs of Tampa Bay and the Be Water Smart from the Start water safety campaign have taught thousands of children and adults how to be safe in and around the water. Join the Y as we celebrate the success of the program on Sunday, August 6, when the Rays play the Milwaukee Brewers.
Proceeds of the lower level tickets will benefit the Be Water Smart from the Start water safety campaign. Plus, kids 14 and under will receive Rays Swim Goggles presented by 7-eleven while supplies last.
The YMCA of the Suncoast, Tampa Metropolitan YMCA and the YMCA of Greater St. Petersburg teamed up with the Rays, United Way of the Suncoast, Children's Board of Hillsborough County and the Juvenile Welfare Board to raise awareness for the "Be Water Smart from the Start" initiative. Florida leads the nation in drowning deaths for children under the age of four. Together we are working to implement a comprehensive drowning prevention plan in order to increase awareness of this problem, understand its associated risks and provide the community with access to resources and water safety classes to address those risks.
