MASH group in woods, ready to run in the 2021 Reindeer Run race

MASH participants gather to cheer on runners at the 2021 Reindeer Run.

On December 11th, nearly 250 runners gathered to celebrate the holiday season and run for a cause! The John Geigle North Pinellas YMCA’s annual Reindeer Run was held at John Chesnut Sr. Park in Palm Harbor and raised more than $20,000 in sponsorships, with premier sponsor Guardian Trust leading the way.

Proceeds from the event go to support the John Geigle North Pinellas Y’s MASH (Mainstream Adults Sharing Hope) program. The MASH program brings adults with special needs (physical and cognitive) together for activities that encourage socializing and healthy habits.

The program is an important part of participants lives. Charles, a 2 year MASH member says his favorite part of MASH is “getting to meet new friends, new people, being a part of a great community and being able to interact with a lot people and the fun activities.” He gives a big thank you to all sponsors and participants of the Reindeer Run!
