For nearly two decades, Cregg Dalton has served Citrus County with passion, integrity, and hands-on leadership. Elected as the 14th Citrus County Property Appraiser in 2020, he brought bold energy and a servant’s heart to the role; focused on transparency, accessibility and excellence in public service.

Under his leadership, the office earned the prestigious International Association of Assessing Officers (IAAO) Certificate of Excellence in Assessment Administration (CEAA); a national honor recognizing innovation, accountability and professional standards. Dalton credits this milestone to his dedicated team and their shared commitment to continuous improvement.

A proud Navy and law enforcement veteran, Dalton blends technical expertise with a people-first mindset. He holds the Certified Florida Appraiser (CFA) designation, along with bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Saint Leo University. He also completed graduate-level executive leadership training through the University of Louisville.

But Dalton’s real passion lies in people and culture. He has co-founded the Men Building Men / Women Building Women mentoring program for students, served on nonprofit boards and championed servant leadership within his own organization. Beyond Citrus County, he speaks at statewide and national conferences, writes leadership articles and is currently authoring a book. At the heart of it all, he believes leadership is a ripple effect; what you pour into others multiplies far beyond the workplace.

Outside of work, Dalton finds strength in his family. He is deeply grateful for his wife Nancy and their two children, Savannah and Austin, who keep him grounded and inspired every day. Whether serving the public or mentoring the next generation, Dalton leads with grit, gratitude and a heart for others.
