The Hernando Family YMCA has a whole new look, and our members are loving it! Recent renovations have transformed the branch, creating a more welcoming, functional and inspiring space for all who walk through the doors.
If you haven’t stopped by lately, or aren’t a member of this branch, you’ll be excited to know the upgrades include a brand-new lobby, a renovated wellness center and modern family-style locker rooms. All these designs were made with our members’ comfort and experience in mind.
One of the most talked-about additions is the state-of-the-art EGYM® system, included in membership*! Once onboarded, members simply scan their EGYM® bracelet to begin a personalized workout. This connected fitness technology automatically adjusts equipment settings, tracks progress and guides users safely through each exercise, making every visit efficient, engaging and fun.
Adding a touch of creativity, the EGYM® interface even updates seasonally. For Halloween, members were greeted by playful ghosts, witches and pumpkins on-screen. Stay tuned for some adorable winter icons coming soon. We can’t wait to see what’s next!
When EGYM®’s distribution team shared that only a few YMCAs use this system, and that the record for onboarded members was just over 900 in one-month, Executive Director Kent Reiber and his team accepted the challenge. In true Hernando YMCA fashion, they didn’t just meet this goal; they shattered it, onboarding more than 1,000 members in one month with a single EGYM® circuit featuring 11 machines.
Kent proudly shared, “We may be a small YMCA branch here in Hernando County, but we’re doing big things. The EGYM® has been a game-changer for our members of all ages and fitness levels.”
