Pink With a Purpose

Each October, the Greater Ridgecrest YMCA proudly hosts its annual Pink for Purpose celebration, and this year was no exception. The four-day series of engaging community events brought together members, families and friends. Proceeds from the week’s activities benefit the Y’s healthy living initiatives.

The festivities kicked off with the Pickle in Pink Pickleball Tournament on Saturday, October 4, where participants rallied for a cause while enjoying some friendly competition on the courts. The fun continued on Friday, October 10, with the Pink Paradise Pool Party, a lively evening filled with laughter, splashes and community spirit for members of all ages.

Members also gathered for the Pink for Purpose Potluck on Friday, October 17, sharing food, stories and support in honor of those affected by breast cancer. The celebration wrapped up with the Pink for Purpose Walk/Run on Saturday, October 25, as participants laced up their sneakers and came together to move for a mission.

More than just a series of events, Pink for Purpose reflects the Y’s ongoing commitment to promoting health, wellness and community connection.

Pink for Purpose stands as a great example of the Y’s commitment to health and wellness. Through these impactful events, the Greater Ridgecrest YMCA continues to come together with compassion, purpose and a splash of pink, leading to meaningful change both on and off the court.
