giving tree

This holiday season, the YMCA of the Suncoast is proud to continue one of our most meaningful traditions, hosting Giving Trees across our branches to ensure that children and families in our community experience the joy, warmth and hope that this time of year brings.

Each Giving Tree is filled with ornaments representing local children who could benefit from a little extra holiday support. With the help of generous individuals, families and community partners, we can ensure every child is remembered and celebrated.

At the heart of this effort is our James P. Gill YMCA, which serves at least 140 children each year through its Giving Tree program. For many of these children, the gifts they receive from caring community members may be the only presents they receive during the holidays.

Taking this to heart, long-time Y supporter and Order of the Red Triangle winner, Allen Crumley, generously donated $500 to kickstart this year's giving, ensuring that even more young people experience the excitement and love that the holiday season should bring. Contributions like his reflect the spirit of giving that defines the YMCA and fuels our mission of strengthening community.

In the coming weeks, we invite you to visit your local YMCA and pick up an ornament from the Giving Tree. Whether you choose one ornament or several, your participation directly impacts a family right here in our community.

The Giving Tree program reminds us that generosity, no matter the size, creates ripples of joy and reassurance that children carry with them long after the holidays have passed. Thank you for helping us share hope, uplift families and continue this meaningful tradition across the YMCA of the Suncoast.
