At the YMCA of the Suncoast, our mission is grounded in strengthening the spirit, mind and body for all. Supporting spiritual health is an essential part of that mission, and each year our association’s prayer breakfasts provide a wonderful opportunity to participate in this area of well-being. These gatherings invite our community to pause, reflect and reconnect with our values, our faith and our shared purpose.
A prayer breakfast is more than a meal; it is a moment of collective renewal. Community members come together to share food, hear an inspirational message and focus on faith, gratitude and service.
Guided by speakers who offer reflections rooted in hope, leadership and spiritual resilience, these events remind us that spiritual health is not separate from daily life, it influences how we lead, how we serve and how we engage with one another.
For the Y, a prayer breakfast is a longstanding tradition that reflects our Christian heritage while welcoming people of all backgrounds into a spirit of unity and connection. This year, we celebrated three successful prayer breakfasts across our association.
- The Citrus County YMCA Prayer Breakfast was held on Friday, November 7, at the Citrus County YMCA. The Keynote speaker was Cregg Dalton, Citrus County Property Appraiser, Navy and Law Enforcement Veteran and Culture-Driven Leader.
- The Mayor’s Prayer Breakfast was held on Thursday, November 20, at the Sheraton Sand Key Resort. The Keynote speaker was Jordan Raynor, bestselling author and a leading voice in the faith-and-work movement.
- The West Pasco Prayer Breakfast was held on Friday, December 5, at Spartan Manor. The keynote speaker was Dr. John Legg, Superintendent of Pasco County Schools.
Together, these moments revealed the very heart of our mission and served as a reminder that tending to our spiritual well-being is not just important, but essential to caring for our well-being.
As we look ahead, the YMCA of the Suncoast remains committed to creating spaces where people can gather, reflect and grow, strengthening the spirit of all who walk through our doors. As we close out 2025, our YMCA of the Suncoast team is grateful to have shared this year with you, and we pray that each of you has a joyful, restful, and hope-filled holiday season and a blessed year ahead.
