Take Small Steps Toward Better Health with the YMCA's Diabetes Prevention Program
Healthy living starts with small, consistent choices and the YMCA of the Suncoast is here to help every step of the way. If you have prediabetes or are at risk for Type 2 diabetes, the YMCA's Diabetes Prevention Program offers the support, education and encouragement needed to build healthier habits that last.
This CDC-recognized lifestyle change program is designed to help participants reduce their risk of developing Type 2 diabetes through realistic, sustainable changes. Rather than focusing on restrictive diets or quick fixes, the program teaches practical strategies that fit into everyday life. Along the way, participants receive guidance from a trained Lifestyle Coach and encouragement from others working toward similar goals.
Throughout the year-long program, participants learn about healthy eating, increasing physical activity, managing stress and creating lasting habits that support overall well-being. The program's goals are to help participants reduce their risk of developing Type 2 diabetes by losing weight and increasing physical activity. Together, these small changes can make a meaningful impact on long-term health while helping participants build confidence and stay accountable.
Whether you're ready to take the first step or looking for the support to stay on track, the YMCA's Diabetes Prevention Program can help you create healthy habits for a healthier future.
