This is a two-hour, two-part workshop consisting of both Living Our Cause for Frontline Leaders and Orientation to Diversity, Global and Inclusion. One hour is designed for those staff that have the most face-to-face time with our members, program participants, and potential members and focuses on what really matters: the heart and minds of our staff.

This training is designed for first-time supervisors, supervisors that are new to the YMCA of the Suncoast and supervisors that would just like a refresher. Supervisors of full-time and part-time status should be encouraged to attend.

Learn how to recognize and care for sudden cardiac arrest, heart attack, stroke, heat exhaustion, heat stroke, sudden illness, and much more. Participants successfully passing this course will be certified in ASHI Adult First Aid.

Learn how to conduct CPR on an Adult, Child and Infant, how to use an AED, how to relieve foreign-body airway obstructions through ASHI and much more.

New Employee Orientation is required within the first 90 days of employment.

Upon successful completion of the course, participants will be certified in Adult/Child/Infant CPR/AED and First Aid for the Community and Workplace through the ASHI. This is a YMCA of the Suncoast training where instruction and certification are included in the class fee.
