Building for Good: Citrus YMCA Expansion Project Breaks Ground

June 30, 2026

The Citrus Memorial Health Foundation YMCA recently celebrated an exciting milestone with the official groundbreaking of its Building for Good expansion and renovation project.

This investment in the future of Citrus County will allow the YMCA to expand programs, enhance member experiences and create new opportunities for individuals and families throughout the community. Planned improvements include four new shaded pickleball courts, two multipurpose group exercise studios, an outdoor playground adjacent to Kids Zone, a renovated wellness center and additional enhancements designed to strengthen programs and services.

For more than a decade, the Citrus Memorial Health Foundation YMCA has been a place where people of all ages come together to improve their health, build relationships and find a sense of belonging. This expansion will build on that legacy by creating more space for the programs and services that help community members learn, grow and thrive.

The project represents the continued generosity and support of donors, community leaders, members and partners who believe in the YMCA's mission and its impact throughout Citrus County. Every contribution to the Building for Good campaign helps move the project forward and creates new opportunities for future generations.

As construction begins, the YMCA remains committed to keeping members informed while continuing to provide the programs and services that strengthen the community every day. The future is bright for the Citrus Memorial Health Foundation YMCA, and this groundbreaking marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter.
