Healthy Kids Day YMCA of the Suncoast









On Saturday, April 25, the YMCA of the Suncoast is holding a free community event to inspire more kids to keep their minds and bodies active. YMCA's Healthy Kids Day® , the Y's national initiative to improve families' health and well-being, features games, healthy cooking demonstrations, arts and crafts and more to motivate and teach families how to develop a healthy routine at home.

Stan and Betty Olsen donate land for Citrus County YMCA

Citrus County's cause to bring a permanent YMCA facility to the area made significant progress on Tuesday, November 11, when Stan and Betty Olsen donated 18 acres of land to the YMCA of the Suncoast.

21st Annual Charity Golf Tournament

The J.P. Gills Family YMCA 21st Annual Charity Golf Tournament will be on May 15. The event will be held at the scenic Fox Hollow Golf Club in Trinity and it's limited to the first 120 participants. This will be an excellent day on the links all while helping the Y with their mission to strengthen the community.

YMCA of the Suncoast Golf TournamentThe event tees off with a lunch and registration from 12-1 p.m. This is a four person scramble tournament with a shotgun start at 1 p.m. Each golfer will receive a polo shirt, goody bag, lunch and buffet dinner. 

Diabetes Association Alert Day®

Tuesday, March 24, is American Diabetes Association Alert Day, and the YMCA of the Suncoast wants residents to know their risk for prediabetes and type 2 diabetes, as well as preventive steps they can take today to reduce the chances of developing the disease.

Flats Fishing Classic and Captains' Party

The YMCA of the Suncoast is calling all professional and amateur anglers for the Flats Fishing Classic presented by Dex Imaging on Friday, April 10. The fishing classic is preceded by the Captains' Party and Benefit Auction at the Carlouel Yacht Club on Thursday, April 9.

Splash Week During Spring Break

The "Be Water Smart from the Start" water safety awareness campaign continues in March and April with Splash Week at various YMCA of the Suncoast locations. The four to five-day series of free water safety lessons help children ages 3-12, and families learn basic swimming skills and practice safety habits while in and around the water.
