Mission

Every Letter Counts

You may have heard talk about the YMCA dropping three letters to now be called “the Y.”  Well, we are happy to be referred to as the Y since it suggests a closer, friendlier relationship with people.  However, we have not dropped any letters, nor the principles behind them.  In fact, our new logo includes all four letters to the right of our main mark, so the YMCA, in every way, is here to stay.

The Christian principles we were founded upon 160 years ago remain, and our mission to put Christian principles into practice through programs that build healthy spirit, mind, and body for all will continue to guide our work for the next 160 years.

YMCA Mission:
To put Christian principles into practice through programs that build healthy spirit, mind, and body for all.
