YMCA of the Suncoast Mayor's Prayer Breakfast

Join us November 6, 2019, at 7:00 a.m. for our 14th Annual Mayor's Prayer Breakfast with keynote speaker Rowdy Gaines. The event will be held at the Sheraton Sand Key Resort, in Clearwater. The program includes music, fellowship and prayers led by leaders in the community.

Rowdy Gaines dominated swimming world in the 1980s. At that time, he was the fastest swimmer on the planet. He is a three-time Olympic Gold Medalist. He no longer competes but is now known as “The Voice of Swimming.” He will be commentating at the upcoming Olympic Games in 2020 in Tokyo. This will be his eighth time doing so. Outside of swimming, he enjoys spending time with his family. He and his wife have four children: Emily, Madison, Savanna and Isabelle, and three granddaughters.




Yohance Wicks has been passionate about music since the age of four, when he began playing piano. He continued his musical career through high school and college at Stetson University, winning many awards along the way. The awards include 1st place in the NATs competition, runner up at the Regional Metropolitan Opera competition and more. He then went on to travel the country with the Premier Choir, taught in Orange County where he led many musicals and traveled the globe while conducting orchestras. Currently, he is the Conductor of the Ruth Eckerd Hall Chorus and Ensemble.
