A message from your YMCA of the Suncoast President and CEO

Dear YMCA Family,

Based on the latest statewide order, our Y branch locations will remain temporarily closed through Friday, May 8*.

In order to keep our members, employees and the community safe, Governor DeSantis has mandated that we remain closed for normal Y operations through Friday, May 8th. Please check our social media channels and our website for up-to-date information.

*As this is a fluid situation, we will work closely with state and local officials and if we are able to open earlier, we certainly will do so.

Below is a link for you to use to let us know your preference on how you would like to proceed with your membership. During this pause in normal operations, we, at the YMCA of the Suncoast, are responding to this crisis by transitioning our efforts to help essential workers with much-needed childcare.  These services are critical in order to allow these emergency essential workers continue to focus on meeting the community's needs. During this challenging period, your Y membership is needed more than ever.  Your membership dues are a critical investment in helping us meet these evolving needs of our community and we want you to STAY WITH US, and we have created an easy, online portal for you to let us know how you would like to proceed with your membership. CLICK HERE to choose the option that is right for you.

Please know, that regardless of your decision we appreciate you and wish you and your family health and comfort during these challenging times. The YMCA will be here for you.

Starting Monday, March 23, we will offer all-day school-age relief care for essential workers at 7 of our YMCA locations across Pinellas, Pasco, Hernando, Citrus and Hillsborough counties to help support the children of healthcare and emergency response professionals, as well as other essential workers, who are playing important roles combating the coronavirus. Together, the Tampa Metropolitan Area YMCA, YMCA of the Suncoast and YMCA of Greater St. Petersburg are working to meet a critical need that will help our Greater Tampa Bay region continue to effectively function as our schools are closed. While this situation is evolving and ever-changing, at this time the Y is working directly with employers representing essential care fields throughout our community to meet their needs. Qualified employees can click here to register for relief care.

There have been no confirmed cases of COVID-19 at any of our YMCA branch locations. This decision to extend closure continues out of concern for our staff, members, and the community as a whole and is currently mandated by an Executive Order by the State of Florida. If you have questions, you may contact your branch Executive Director.

Thank you for being part of our Y family and for your continued support as we all navigate this public health crisis.
