Teen Programs
Youth Leadership Pinellas
The Youth Leadership Pinellas Program seeks to provide information on community resources and issues, develop an excellence in leadership, build teamwork skills, and foster involvement in community services for a diverse group of high school students.
Students must:
- Be in the 10th, 11th or 12th grade and attend an accredited high school in the Tampa Bay Area
- Submit an application with appropriate documentation
- Demonstrate leadership or emerging leadership in school or community activities
- Commit to full participation in the Youth Leadership Pinellas Program
- Be eager to learn and have strong team spirit
- Be academically sound; a B average or better is recommended
- Be willing to follow Pinellas County School Code of Conduct and policy set forth by Youth Leadership Pinellas

American Red Cross CPR/AED/First Aid Certification Classes
CPR/AED certifications are valid for 1 year. First Aid certifications are valid for 3 years. Participants may attend CPR/AED portion only if they choose, but MUST register for entire course. Evening classes are two-part classes and participants MUST plan to attend both sessions for certification.
Adult CPR/AED plus First Aid
Schedule: December 9, 6 – 10:00 pm AND December 10, 6 – 9:00 pm

Teen Party
Join us each month for food, fun, and games! This fall we will have exciting games, contests and great tournaments with sweet prizes!
Age: 6th grade thru 12th grade students
Fee/annually: Facility Members $5; Program Members $6; Non-members $7
Schedule: Saturdays, December 13, and February 21
Teen Orientation
This is an orientation to teach teens the proper use of the equipment in the Fitness Center. Upon completion of this program, teens are allowed to work out in the fitness center. Our teen members will be given a yellow clip upon successful completion of orientation. This clip is to be worn while using the fitness center. Wear workout attire and bring a towel. Sign-up at the member services desk

Leaders Club
Be a LEADER with the YMCA Leaders Club! Junior Leaders and Leaders have fun building relationships and gaining leadership skills through fundraising, volunteerism, fitness and community service. Join us for our weekly meetings! Interested, want more information?
Age: Junior Leaders 9-12 years old, Leaders 13-18
Fee/annually: Facility Members $40; Program Members $60

Youth In Government
Do you like to debate? Do you like politics? Then Youth In Government is for you! This statewide High School program offers you the opportunity to debate, earn community service hours, work on public speaking skills, miss a few days of school, travel to Tallahassee, make new friends from across the state, and make real change to Florida.
Age: East Lake High School Students & Countryside High School Students

Teen Center
Our Teen Center is equipped with a pool table, air hockey, foosball, and much more. Pre-Teens and Teens can hang out and have fun while parents work out or just come to play!
Age: 8-17

Schedule: Monday-Thursday, 3:30 - 8:30 pm, Saturday 9 am - 1:00 pm
Dance Revolution/Wii Sports/Ping-Pong/Chess/Pool Tournaments
All events are held periodically in the Teen center. Dates and times are posted monthly in Teen center.
Tae Kwon Do
Our program combines challenging drills and fun activities in a structured environment to develop strength, flexibility, coordination and realistic self-defense skills.
Age: 4 and up
Fee/monthly: Facility Members $50; Program Members $75
Schedule: Tuesday/Thursday, 5:30-6:45 pm OR 7-8:15 pm OR Saturday 12:00-12:45 pm
Tennis Lessons
Tennis with Anne-Marie Lunde
Beginners; For students that can maintain a slow rally with the tennis instructor inside the serve box. Class will continue stroke development through drills and point play.
Age: 10-13
Schedule: Thursdays, November 13-December 18, 7– 8:00 pm
Fee: $66 Facility Members; $82 Program Members
Intermediate; A progression form advanced beginner level. Can hit ground strokes and serve fairly well from baseline. Working net strokes, rallying and playing point against classmates and scoring. Can hit with speed and spin.
Age: 10-13
Schedule: Tuesdays, November 11-December 16, 7– 8:00 pm

Tennis Games and Point Play; Come join the fun...this is an opportunity to practice the skills you have been working on in your tennis lessons. Come play tennis games and matches under the supervision of the tennis professional. Emphasis on improving tennis through point play. Minimal instruction given.
Age 10-15
Schedule: Wednesdays, November 12-December 17, 6 – 7:00 pm

Tennis with Robert Carlbo
Junior Aces; designed for players who can successfully rally from the mid court and play mini tennis, still learning to serve and keep score. Drills and instruction will emphasize full court rallies, serving and scoring.
Age: 11-15
Schedule: Wednesdays, November 12-December 17, 6:30 - 7:30 pm
Fee: $66 Facility Members; $82 Program Members
Junior Aces Intermediate; A program for 11-15 yrs with an emphasis on proper tennis technique, fitness and fun. Junior Aces will start to rally with other players and learn scoring and court etiquette. This class is for intermediate players. Must be able to rally.

Jr. High & High School-Drills and Match Play; Jr. High and High school players and those trying out, work match play, strategy, and tactics for singles and doubles.

Thursdays, November 13-December 18, 5-6:00 pm
