Taught by Robert Carlbo, Cardio Tennis consists of warm-up, cardio workout, and cool down phases. This is a fitness program focused more on getting people moving and less on improving specific tennis skills!

YMCA Scuba

SCUBA can lead to exciting adventures and unique memories for you and your family. Your NAUI Instructor Jeff Paine (727-804-7672) will teach you about dive equipment, the science of diving, responsible diving practices and the environment. Weekly sessions include both classroom and pool training where you will learn and have the opportunity to practice skills in the water. You will complete your training with a two open water dives.

The recommended age is 12 years of age or older and you must be in good physical condition. Students under the age of 18 will need to have parental consent and their parents’ presence may be requested for classes. The Program fee includes the use of basic scuba equipment during training sessions. Students will need to provide basic personal equipment, educational materials and fees for open water dives.

We need a minimum of 4 participants in order to hold the session.

SilverSneakers® Fitness Program

Silver Sneakers

 

 

 

The SilverSneakers® Fitness Program is the nation's leading exercise program designed exclusively for older adults. The basic SilverSneakers® Fitness Program membership includes the use of all the North Pinellas Branch has to offer. Special SilverSneakers® Fitness Program exercise classes are available. The classes have certified instructors who guide participants through exercises that focus on strength, flexibility, mobility, range of motion, balance, agility, and coordination to improve activities for daily living. Please contact us for more information.

A great class for seniors! Strength and range of motion benefits are the focus of this creative exercise program. Participants may sit or stand. Classes include SilverSneakers I, SilverSneakers II and YogaStretch.

CPR/AED First Aid Certification Classes

Classes will be held at the North Pinellas Branch YMCA.  CPR/AED certifications are valid for one year. First Aid certifications are valid for three years. Participants may attend CPR/AED portion only if they choose, but MUST register for entire course. Evening classes are two-part classes and participants MUST plan to attend both sessions for certification. Upon successful completion of the course, students will receive American Red Cross CPR certification.  Participant must successfully complete all skills and pass written test with 80%, for certification. For more information or to register for a class, please visit our Member Service Desk. Adult classes meet from 6-10:00 pm, Child/Infant classes meet from 5-10pm.

Fit for Life

This low impact aerobic class is specially designed for the active older adult.  Routines include strength work with weights, abdominal work, and stretching.

M.A.S.H. (Mainstream Adults Sharing Hope)

This is a special group designed to create physical activity as well as socialization with other peers in the lives of adults with disabilities. The program's mission is to encourage and support single "challenged adults" to meet and socialize with their peers and to experience the enjoyment of friendship, fun and socialization. Parents Night Out

Attention parents: Are you looking for an night without the kids? Children will enjoy open play; fun and games; pizza and juice; and end the night with a movie and popcorn. Your kids will have fun while you enjoy a night out!

Please make sure your child has socks, closed toed shoes, sleeping bag, and pillow. Photo membership cards need to be turned in at check-in. If your child cannot attend, you must cancel 24 hours in advance to receive credit.
