We are proud to announce that LIVESTRONG is being introduced here at the Greater Palm Harbor YMCA. Please notice on our Group Exercise Class Schedule we have used the golden armband symbol to indicate classes that may be recommended for cancer patients and survivors. These classes have not been altered in anyway; they are LIVESTRONG recommended.

Jr. Striders
Like to run and play games that involve running?
This program educates the participants in the need for physical activity and healthy food choices. Includes one free t-shirt per participant.
Ages: Kindergarten through 9-years-old
This twelve-week program meets Saturday mornng from 9 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. beginning October 2nd and will run through December 18th.
Price for the program is just $15 for facility members and $25 for program members!

Train to Run
Interested in learning about running? Looking to better your race time? Looking for friends to run with?
Join Ginny Lisle, Personal Trainer, for a new running experience. The program consists of drills, interval training, walking and running outside, strength training, as well as proper stretching techniques.
You will build endurance and stamina, while maintaining or losing weight.
This twelve-week program meets Monday and Wednesday from 9:30 - 10:30 am for run training and Friday from 9:30 - 10:30 am for strength training.
Program starts Monday, September 13th and continues through Friday, December 3rd.
Fee: $75 for Facility Members.

Old School Kickball Saturdays
Teens Play Ball!
Teens and Pre-teens between the age of 10 and 15 get ready for eight weeks of fun with Coach Justin. You'll get fit while having fun and making new friends playing kickball, dodgeball and various other games played outside with a ball!

Healthy Family Home
This is a free program, open to the community, designed to help improve your home environment & jumpstart healthy habits that will lead to a healthier way of living, by encouraging families to make small changes on a daily basis.
All participants receive a Starter Kit, which is designed to give the adult in the home, some background information on the three keys to creating a Healthy Family Home: play every day, eat healthy and make family time. All ages are welcome, and this program is free to members. Please call Joyce Chiavetta at 787-9622 if you would like to participate.
Getting Started; Introductory Wellness Coaching Session
Begin your journey with a Wellness Coaching Session. One of our trained staff will meet with you to discuss your wellness goals and steer you in the right direction. By learning about your likes and dislikes, your goals and objectives, as well as your motivations and frustrations, our caring staff will help you explore the road to health and design a plan that is right for you.
Introductory Exercise Orientation
Our staff will take the time to familiarize you with the equipment, exercises and or classes best designed to help you reach your goals. Follow-up sessions may be scheduled as you like, until you are comfortable with your routine or when you are ready to make some changes.

Boot Camp Friday

Working on Weights Families
Working on Weights Families is the same concept as Working on Weights however you and your child or children (age 10 and up) work together as a family with one trainer. Sessions run for 6 consecutive weeks and are held on Tuesday & Thursday starting at your convenience.

Working on Weights (WOW I)
During this six-week session, your trainer will guide you through a fitness and training program that will maximize your workout time and increase your knowledge about free weights, selectorized machines and cardiovascular activity. You will learn different ways to achieve your fitness goals through this small group training setting. Sessions are limited to 4 participants; a minimum of 3 is required.
Fee: 2 days per week $125; 3 days per week $175
Working on Weights (WOW II)
Members have the opportunity to customize their own WOW group. You will pick your trainer, the days and times that best fit your schedule and your exercise partner. Sessions run 6 weeks and are limited to 2 people.
Fee: 2 days per week $200; 3 days per week $275
Massage Therapy
Balance mind, spirit and body through massage therapy at The Greater Palm Harbor YMCA. Praj, licensed Therapist, specializes in Swedish Massage, Integrated Wellness Massage, Therapeutic Massage, Basic Pregnancy Massage, Neuromuscular Therapies include trigger point therapy, myofascial release and muscle energy techniques. Praj will work with you to determine how massage therapy can best serve your goals of health and fitness.

CPR/AED First Aid Certification Classes
Classes will be held at the Greater Palm Harbor Branch YMCA. CPR/AED certifications are valid for one year. First Aid certifications are valid for three years. Participants may attend CPR/AED portion only if they choose, but MUST register for entire course. Evening classes are two-part classes and participants MUST plan to attend both sessions for certification. Upon successful completion of the course, students will receive American Red Cross CPR certification. Participant must successfully complete all skills and pass written test with 80%, for certification. For more information or to register for a class, please visit our Member Service Desk.

Group Exercise Schedule
Our Group Exercise Program offers a wide range of classes for different abilities and interests. With everything from Step Aerobics to Zumba, you’re sure to find a class that’s right for you. Try our Yoga, Pilates and Qi Gong Yoga classes to balance mind, spirit and body. Please view our schedule for details; it is updated monthly.
Indoor Cycling/ Spinning
Maybe it’s because you could burn as many as 500 calories per 40- minute ride. Maybe it’s because the expert coaching, motivating environment and unbeatable group energy power you up hills that once seemed too steep to climb. Or maybe it’s just because the person you are after the class feels so much better that the one you were before did. Whatever the reason, millions worldwide have found a lot to love about Indoor Cycling/Spinning. With no complicated moves to learn and music that begs your legs to pedal, getting into the best shape of your life has never been more fun. Our cycling classes are offered on a first come first serve basis. Class participants can get a bike tag from the membership services desk up to an hour before the class. (This reserves a bike for the class). Our Indoor Cycling/Spinning classes are ongoing and are included you’re your facility membership. Please check the Group Exercise schedule for days and times.
SilverSneakers Fitness Program
SilverSneakers Fitness Program is the nation’s leading exercise program designed exclusively for older adults. The basic SilverSneakers Fitness Program membership includes the use of all the Greater Palm Harbor Branch has to offer. Special SilverSneakers Fitness Programs exercise classes are available. The classes have certified instructors who guide participants through exercises that focus on strength, flexibility, mobility, range of motion, balance, agility and coordination to improve activities for daily living. Participants may sit or stand. Classes include SilverSneakers I and SilverSneakers II. Please join us every third Tuesday of the month @ 12:30 pm for our seniors pot luck lunch. We kindly ask that you to bring a dish to share. Enjoy a lunch with friends, a raffle for some great prizes and guest speakers with interesting topics.

Classes for kids!
At the YMCA, we build strong kids, strong families, and strong communities. Our kids classes are a great way to play! With Fit Kids & families, Kids Tumbling, and Kids Karate your preschooler/school age child will get active and have fun with their YMCA friends.
Water Exercise
Water Exercise Schedule
Enjoy a fitness class in our beautiful outdoor heated pools. This is a perfect year-round workout for all levels and ages.
• Ability to swim is not required for most of the water classes
• Swimming Dragons- This popular class is one everyone must try. It is a lower impact exercise class. It combines Martial Arts and Tai Chi and uses water for resistance to strengthen muscles and increase mind, balance and stability. You will leave the class with an overall feeling of well-being.
• Swimming Dragons II- Uses the basics learned in Swimming Dragons and takes it to the next level. Previous attendance in Swimming Dragons is required.
• Water Fit- This is a moderate to higher intensity cardiovascular workout that is designed to tone muscles and improves overall health and physical well being. All fitness levels and abilities welcome.
• Deep Water Fit- This workout is similar to Water Fit but without the pool bottom. This can be a moderate to high intensity workout sure to give you a great aerobic workout while at the same time toning muscles. All fitness levels and abilities welcome.
• Hydro Circuit- This will use circuit training with the aqua step, fans, noodles, water barbells, water step and interval training to promote lean muscle tissue, cardiovascular health and endurance. Loads of fun and for all fitness levels.
• Summer Waves- This class is seasonal and runs the through the summer months as an additional water exercise option. This class ranges from low-high intensity moves with lots of options. It incorporates all modes of equipment guaranteed to keep your workout exciting and challenging.
• Deep Water Challenge- Varying formats used in the deep water to create a fantastic workout leaving you energized and ready to start your day. This class meets in the diving well.
