Youth Leadership Pinellas
Youth Leadership Pinellas (YLP) is a joint program of Leadership Pinellas and the YMCA of the Suncoast. Leadership Pinellas is non-partisan and in no way is a political activist group. The daily operation, class organization, and program management of Youth Leadership Pinellas is managed through a partnership with the YMCA of the Suncoast.
Youth Leadership Pinellas is a seven-month program, operating from November through May. Participants meet for five full day sessions, plus an orientation retreat and graduation event. The program is run separate from any school-sponsored program.

Teen Nights
Teens meet in the multi-purpose room and have fun with supervised Wii tournaments, ping pong, Guitar Hero or just hang with your friends.
Age: 8-14
Fee: Free for members
Schedule: Mondays & Wednesdays, 6:30 - 8:30 pm
Before and After School Care
The Greater Palm Harbor YMCA has before and after school care for Middle Schoolers from Palm Harbor and Carwise Middle Schools and Center Academy. This program runs from 6:30 am to school start time and from dismissal to 6:30 pm, and includes bus service from the school to the Palm Harbor YMCA. It includes daily homework time, physical activity, and fun in a safe and positive environment at the Y. PYP Piranhas Swim Team
We are a year-round competitive swim program where a positive and supportive environment is established to help improve stroke, technique, skills and goals for each individual swimmer in the program. PYP will build good people and good swimmers through constant attention to teaching and training.
Each workout group is designed to develop ability levels working toward individual goals which may include reaching Junior Olympic, YMCA Nationals, Sectional or National level qualifying times.
We help you become the swimmer you have the potential to be!

Working On Weights
One trainer and four people work out for six weeks, two or three days a week for one-hour sessions.

Teens Play Ball
Teens & Pre-teens between ages 10 and 15 get ready for eight weeks of fun with Coach Justin.
Program runs from Sep 11th to Oct 30th.

Wellness Orientations
Meet with a Wellness Coach to define your goals and help you get started on the path to a better you! By appointment, call or stop by the front desk for available appointment times.

Basketball Leagues
Ages 10-15
10 game season at Palm Harbor Middle School Gymnasium.
Cost: $80 for Facility Members, $110 for Program Members.
Ages 10 to 12: Tuesdays and Thursdays – 6:00, 7:00, or 8:00 pm
Games at Palm Harbor Middle School Gymnasium.
Start dates: Tuesday Sep 7th, and Tuesday Oct 26th.
Ages 13 to 15: Mondays and Thursdays – 6:00, 7:00, or 8:00 pm
Games at Carwise Middle School Gymnasium.

Skate Park
Our American Eagle Ride YMCA Skate Park is a one of a kind park designed just for us. The park is located in front of the branch on a smooth concrete surface and features ramps, rails, boxes, and more.
All participants are required to wear proper helmets, elbow pads and knee pads, and in-line skaters are also required to wear wrist guards.
The YMCA requires that everyone have a child and parent signed waiver to participate. The park is free to all facility and program members. We encourage everyone to become members, however, non-members can use the park at a $5 per day fee.
Skate Park Schedule: Wednesday-Friday, 4:00 - 7:00 pm
Saturday 10:00 am - 2:00 pm
Sunday 1:00 - 4:00 pm
Youth in Government
A national YMCA program, Youth in Government involves thousands of teens nationwide in state organized model government programs which include model legislature, judicial programs, executive branch, lobbyists, press corps and pages.
Volunteer Opportunities
We are actively and continually recruiting for the following positions. Please pick an area of interest and pick up a Volunteer Application at the front desk!
Kids Zone
Kids Zone Attendant: Interested in out-going and responsible volunteers to acquaint children with the rules and activities in the kids zone, take responsibility for the safety and welfare of each child, engage the children in positive playtime, initiate games and role play and read stories.
Kids Zone Programs: Need creative and self-motivated volunteers to assist the Kids Zone staff with Preschool programs, committing to creating a safe and fun environment for our program participants, work one-on-one with preschoolers encouraging them and guiding them during craft time, snack time, and playtime.
Aquatics
Make a Splash Swim Buddy: Looking for responsible caring individuals over the age of 16 to work with special needs children in an aquatic setting to encourage water safety. These “swim buddies” will provide a sense of inclusion to these children that fosters diversity and enhances their lives and our community
Youth Programs
Sport Coaches and Officials: Do you love sports and mentoring kids? Volunteer to coach a team! We are looking for coaches for soccer, basketball and flag football. Volunteers must be at least 18 years of age and able to commit for a whole season. Volunteer officials are also needed.
After School Activity Coordinator: Looking for adult role models to be a part of our team. Lead students in an after school club of your choice, possibilities include: cooking, photography, dj skills, model rockets, arts & crafts, etc. We have a small budget for supplies. We are only limited by your imagination.
Administration
Member Services Volunteer: Organized and detail oriented people are needed to join our Membership Services team! Tasks include greeting members, scanning membership cards for facility access, assisting with filing, photocopying, data processing, and organization of systems. Other activities may include assisting with bulk mailings, correspondence, and interacting with YMCA members as needed
Special Event Volunteer: We are looking for adult role models to be a part of our special event team. Help set up, clean up, and participate in special event programming at our YMCA branch and/or offsite. Special events include: International Day, Pool parties, Grape Escape, Kids Fishing Challenge, Annual Giving Campaign Kickoff, Member Appreciation Days, etc.
