Leaders Club
Do you want to volunteer by planning fun activities and events for yourself and your friends? Then Leaders Club is where you need to be!

Leaders Club Requirements
As a part of Leaders Club, you will meet weekly for your creative and event planning sessions with all other Leaders, and you will be required to complete 100 hours of volunteering within the school year. This includes the weekly meetings and the events you plan (approx. 1 every 2 months). Events will include fun activities as well as service or outreach opportunities in our community. You must also maintain a minimum 3.0 GPA to participate.
Age: High School Students
Fee: $30 Facility Members; $40 Program Members
(includes yearly club membership and custom shirts designed by the Leaders)
Schedule: Every Monday that school is in session, 7-8:00 pm
Junior Leaders Club
The YMCA Jr. Leaders Club is a group of pre-teens, with adult supervision, organized for the purpose of rendering volunteer service at the local YMCA. Jr. Leaders Club develops teaching and leadership qualities, improves performance levels, strengthens traditional values and social skills, as well as the principles and philosophies of YMCA physical education needed to achieve the essential unity of spirit, mind, and body. Club activities include monthly meetings and trainings, social activities, and an end-of-the-year event. All Jr. Leaders are expected to earn 40 volunteer hours a year by volunteering for the YMCA. Pre-teens assume responsibility for planning their own activities.
Age : 9-12 years old
Fee : $25 membership dues covers a Jr. Leaders Club t-shirt and nametag; $4 monthly dues
Schedule : Meetings are every Monday, 5:30-6:30 pm in the Teen Center. Trainings and social events are also scheduled throughout the month
Piranhas Swim Team
Swimmers desiring to participate in USA Swimming sanctioned swim meets will have the opportunity to do so. Please contact the swim coach for more information. Attendance is not required at all practices. Swimmers may attend as many or as few practices as they want.
Practice: Ages 5-13, Monday-Friday, 5:00 -6:00 pm
Ages 14+, Monday-Friday, 6:00 - 8:00 pm
Fee: Monday-Friday, $70 Facility Members; $100 Program Members
Mon/Wed/Fri OR Tue/Thur, $40 Facility; $60 Program Members
Prerequisites: Ages 6-17 and must be able to swim 25 yards of freestyle, backstroke and breaststroke.
Specialized Sports Training
Specialized Sports Training is an intensive program that focuses on running, flexibility, agility, speed and strength techniques. Specialized Sports Training incorporates sprinting drills, plyometrics, cycling and dynamic stretching in order to build strength in the ankles, legs, and core, while becoming more flexible to prevent injuries. This is perfect for the athlete or person wanting to take their fitness to the next level. Sports specific drills will compliment sports such as volleyball, football, basketball, baseball, golf and others.
Specialized Sports Training is taught by YMCA Certified Personal Trainers and is available to individuals or teams up to 6 participants, minimum of 4 per team needed. For more information contact Marie Cervantes-Roth at 727-375-9622 or mcervantes-roth@suncoastymca.org.

* Fee may be divided between team participants. For example, 2x/week for 4 weeks $330 would cost a team of six only $55 each.
Dance-Ballet, Pointe, Lyrical, Jazz, Hip Hop & Tap
Classes are for boys & girls, ages 3 & up. Come learn dance & develop confidence, strength & personality. Dance is a great way to have fun, exercise, meet new friends, learn new steps, choreography & express your talent. There are many styles of dance to choose from. A yearly recital will be held in June. Students must be registered by January in order to participate in the recital. Johnny Walters Performance Enhancement Speed Camp
Improve your vertical jump, speed, agility & quickness with the Johnny Walters’ Performance Enhancement Program, professionally designed to enhance an athlete’s performance. We use the latest techniques and drills for speed, resistance, over speed training and sprint mechanics. Participants need running shoes and field cleats. Your Help is Needed

Mitchell Family Teen Activity Center
The Mitchell Family Teen Center is
a 2,000 square foot facility built specifically with Teens in mind. Features include a ping-pong table, Dance Dance Revolution (DDR), a big screen TV, a stereo, a DVD player, and board games, as well as a 5 station computer lab for homework and research that is available to help meet academic needs.
Rules and guidelines have been put into place and are fully enforced to ensure a safe and pleasant atmosphere for all who participate.
Hours: Monday-Friday during the public school schedule, 2:50-6:00 pm
Teen Orientation
This is an orientation to teach teens the proper use of the equipment in the Fitness Center.
Upon completion of this program, teens are allowed to work out in the fitness center.
Our teen members will be given a yellow clip upon successful completion of orientation.
This clip is to be worn while using the fitness center. Wear workout attire and bring a towel. Sign-up at the member services desk.

Pre-Teen and Teen Orientation Schedule
Boy Scouts of America
Find yourself hiking along trails, canoeing across lakes, camping under the open sky, cooking your meals over an open fire, and finding your way with only a map and compass.
Age: Boys, 11 – 17 (graduated 5th Grade and up)
Fee: Dues paid to Boy Scouts
Schedule: Mondays, 7 - 8:30 pm
The High Ropes Challenge Course
Towering up to 50 feet above the ground, the High Ropes Course encourages participants ages 13 and up to step beyond their normal comfort level and learn the importance of trust and team work. The course is made up of 18 utility poles, a 50-foot climbing wall and a framework of ropes and cables connected 30 feet in the air to create a wide variety of course elements for the participants to navigate. The James P. Gills Family Branch's course is one of the largest in the state and includes such ropes course favorite elements as the Giant Swing, Zip Line and Vertical Play Pen.

Open Climb
Challenge the Rock Wall or Take the “Leap of Faith.” Walk across the “Bearmer Bridge”. Bring the entire family out to the Ropes Course for a morning of fun, challenge and family activity.
Age: Youth under the age of 18 must be with a parent/guardian while climbing
Fee: $15 per person. Advanced registration required, open to non-members
Schedule: third Friday of every month, 6:30 - 9:30 pm
