YMCA Cottee River Flats ClassicCash or prizes will be given to 1st, 2nd, 3rd place winners in each category. A GRAND SLAM will be given to the boat with the highest cumulative length of one fish each from the four targeted species. For this prize only, fish must be legal length for their species. If there is no winner, the cash award will roll over and increase for next year! Targeted Fish Species Snook This is a catch-and-release tournament open to all anglers conforming to Florida Fishing Regulations whose entry form and fees are received by September 18, 2008, by 6 p.m. Online registrations must be received by September 16, 2008 at 6 p.m. If you miss the online registration cut-off you may register at the Captain’s Party. A parent or guardian must accompany participants under 16 years of age. Please complete the following enrollment form, make your payment online or print your registration form and return with payment to the James P. Gills Family YMCA. NO REFUNDS, NO TRANSFERS, OR SUBSTITUTIONS of contestant’s entry fee for any reason. Tournament officials have the right to refuse any entry. Contestant ClassificationAll entries will be classified and judged under the following categories: Amateur Adult (16 and older) **Jr. Fisherman on a guided boat will be judged in the Professional Guide category. **Any boat having a professional guide aboard will be judged in the Professional Category. Fishing ZoneFishing is permitted anywhere in the West Central Florida region, except where prohibited by law. Fishing Hours No lines in the water until 6:30 a.m. Contestants must check in with a tournament official at either The Crab Shack Dock or tournament boat at Channel Marker 1. Only photos of your catch will be accepted at the check-in. Official Florida Saltwater Fishing Regulations will apply and contestants are presumed to be informed. Tackle and EquipmentFish must be caught on hook and line method. No spear fishing and/or netting permitted to land fish. Artificial and live baits, and any combination of the two listed, are allowed. Baits can be deployed from the vessel at any legal location. Each participant must have a valid saltwater fishing license that may be checked by the tournament officials at the time of weigh-in. (Professional Captain’s carry fishing licenses for all anglers fishing on their boat.) ScoringThe largest fish species in length, as verified by photograph determines the winners of each category. The YMCA will provide measuring board and camera. Anglers will sign for camera and must return camera at check-in or will be charged a $50 replacement fee. Official scoring provided by Fish On! Fishing Club. In the event of a tie, the winner will be determined by the earliest check in time. All cameras and measuring boards must be returned by 2:00 p.m. Any contestant found to be in violation of any tournament rules and regulations, or that of the Florida Saltwater Fishing Regulations, will be subject to disqualification from this tournament and all future tournaments.
